Joshua Roll is the Founder and CEO of Phaedrus Data and Insights.
Before founding Phaedrus, Josh worked in IT for two decades, most recently as a Solution Architect for some of the industry’s top data and analytics consulting firms. Josh has successfully served a wide range of clients in various sectors, from Fortune 100 and 500 companies to public schools.
In his hometown of Blue Island, Josh serves as an Alderman. Motivated to run for office by the dismal state of the city’s finances, Josh hoped to use his experience as a consultant to help improve the city’s financial operation.
Since being elected in 2021, Josh has been named chair of the city’s finance committee and successfully introduced modern analytics solutions to transform the city’s financial operations. With the Phaedrus Insights team, Josh built the city a full suite of financial reports and a public-facing data portal to increase transparency. The result? A complete transformation for Blue Island. Having a better grasp of its resources has saved time and money and enabled the government to serve its citizens through data-driven decision-making.
Based on his experience, Josh knew other cities and units of government could benefit from this solution, too. Thus, Phaedrus Insights was born.
